Arrastao - Capoeira takedown, pulling both legs from under an opponent
Asfixiante - A straight punch
Atabaque - A drum that's used in Capoeira rodas ; similar to the conga
Ataque - Attacking move or movement initiative
Au - Cartwheel
Au Chibata - Low, rolling twist kick ; use elbow to roll
Au Sem Mao - No handed cartwheel

Gunga - The bass berimbau
iaia , ioio - Terms used by slaves for daughters and sons of the master

Ladainha - Litany ; an introductory solo, usually sung by a master
Ligeiro - Swift, quick ; nimble, agile ; slippery, dishonest

Sequencia - Sequence of moves learned by player in Regional style
Tesoura - Leg scissors takedown from side
Tesoura Angola - With legs spread out, slide towards opponent for a takedown
